Yes I know you are having a fun time keeping up with all the changes. I apologize however remember Xanluna! is after all an experiment in refinement. Showcasing the best of CMS where ever possible and still Keeping it Simple!
We switched to the latest Rocket Theme “Panacea”. Not to be confused that life here is anything close to the definition of panacea for it is not. Life here lately has been consumed by moving, rebuilding and correcting issues with the Gallery.
With the web moving more and more closer to the HTML5 standards has some Flash based products like our gallery server forced to go through some major changes and updates faster then we have been able to adjust. We updated our flash services however that just made things worse.
So to simplify keeping to our motto, I have completely removed the flash based gallery processes and converted to a much easy method. Now this is not without its drawbacks. I am still trying to sort out some of the albums that have more then 20 photos. The simpler method does not use a database and the cache system is a little clunky so some of the albums are still not coming up in-correctly.
Consider this round one of more changes to affect the gallery.
Besides the new theme by Rocket Theme they also updated Gantry to 3.06 in the past couple weeks and Joomla! updated to 1.5.19 (fixed some security issues) with the backend.
While I endeavor to keep up with software patches and the latest news I have been busy on the CMS side of my life consumed with new Documentum work. And as much as I would like to post at a regular interval work has to take its precedence over the site as I am back to mostly doing the work my self.
So if you have some free cycles and you would like to share in supporting the site, submitting articles for CMS for Dummies, etc. please drop me a note as I could really really use the help!
