Preparing for K2 - Update

Preparing for K2 - Update
There are a lot of changes brewing here at Xanluna! For the past couple months we have been building a new foundation for Xanluna! and this includes finally the integration with K2.

For those not familiar with K2 it’s purpose is adding CCK functionality where non existed before. Currently all Joomla! versions excluding the new 1.6 due out next year only support a two level category structure. This is built on Sections and Categories. This does not leave much room for building multi-tier sites that holds many categories and children. With CCK you can have an infintesible number of categories including nested categories within nested categories. Virtually unlimited!

The problem is Xanluna! has become category clogged so to speak with the merger of Documentum 4 Dummies and in order to make both the sites work as one required playing a lot of games with the category structure. Not to mention we could not cross reference multiple categories where needed when one article might affect different categories.

Pulling the Twitter Plug

Pulling the Twitter Plug
Well enough is enough! We have never had so many problems related to a web service before. Yes I am speaking of the popular micro blogging site called Twitter.

And yes it is gone. I don’t know why it has to be so difficult for a service to work but my guess is when Twitter decided to start their advertising process it changed the game and now plug-ins simply will not function. So we have pulled the plug. I am removing my Twitter account and moving on.

So how’s your Twitter experience? We would like to hear what you have to say...

Writers block

Sunday, 25 April 2010 06:33 Written by Geeky Artist
You may have noticed recently I have not posted any new stories. Sorry! I am tired and suffering from writers block. After my last business trip we moved from LA back to the Denver area. This move took a lot out of me both physically as well as mentally.

We have spent a good portion of my efforts the last month finding a new home; establishing all that goes with that; re-setting up my office and trying to find stuff that was presumably in a marked box. Without doing a full inventory at the onset of the move I think you can relate to my dilemma.

My office is finally back together and things are falling into place but the desire has not fully returned. So I hope my readers will forgive me or should I say allow me time to fully recuperate to my old self.

I hope to have some new stories soon.
